A piano must be tuned every 6 months to protect the instrument from wear and tear. It is of utmost importance that piano students play on pianos that are tuned regularly so they can develop of good sense of pitch.
I am a graduate of the American School of Piano Tuning, and have tuned pianos for distinguished clients such as: Oakhurst Tea Room, Somerset Area School District, Meyersdale School District, Shanksville School District, and many local churches and private piano owners.
I charge $80.00 for a standard tuning. If the piano has not been serviced often enough it may require a pitch raise which is an additional $10.00. (Note that the national average fee for piano tuning is $100-180 and the average going rate for a pitch raise is $50.)
In our climate, it is essential to have a Dampp-Chaser humidity control system installed to preserve the life of your piano. I am one of a few certified installers in the country!
